We carefully select our lumber from reputable NYC wholesalers and online distributors. Our location in East Bronx provides convenient, local access to an enviable array of hardwoods and furniture-grade plywoods.
Lumber selection is a key ingredient of our process. We take great care to acquire inputs that will accentuate and compliment the completed piece.
color & finishes
Hardwood Alchemy performs all color and finish work in-house. We meticulously sand and prep our woodwork at the outset, for exceptional grain clarity in completed projects.
By keeping both the woodworking and finishing under 1 roof, we maintain much greater control over the quality and aesthetics of the completed work piece(s).
We will happily suggest colors and/or finishes suitable to the piece you want. At the same time, we welcome specific requests and parameters from clients.
HARDWARE
The unsung hero of many an accent piece or built-in - hinges, knobs, handles, pulls - impart both function and form to your woodwork.
As ever, we will recommend components that align with the intended use and desired appearance of your woodworking project. When it’s up to us, Hardwood Alchemy typically uses Emtek hardware.
